My personal philosophy for pelvic floor therapy;
As an OT, I focus on how to incorporate your routines, lifestyle factors, and goals into a holistic, full body approach to treatment. I emphasize a focus on nervous system regulation and body awareness. I promote confidence with daily activities such as picking your baby up off the floor, working out, running, and walking up stairs. I believe in hands-on manual approach to biomechanical factors that are causing pain, weakness, or dysfunction. Lastly, I believe in supporting women’s mental health and listening to their wants, needs, and stories.

Is pelvic therapy covered by insurance?
We believe in tailoring our treatment plans to our patients needs and not letting insurance companies dictate the care that our patients receive. Healthcare should be about YOU at the end of the day, so by providing a cashed based model, you are in charge of your own healthcare. Cashed based models allow for the clinicians to have more time per treatment session and more time to carry out your individual plan of care. This gives you the freedom to make your own healthcare decisions.
What is the difference between occupational and physical pelvic health therapy?
As an OT, I clearly have a bias toward pelvic health OT practitioners but both are needed for various beautiful reasons in this field. Occupational therapists tend to focus more on nervous system regulation, breath work, real-life context, mental load, pattern behaviors, and functional carryover of routines throughout pelvic floor therapy. Physical therapists tend to focus more on biomechanical factors of dysfunction, manual therapy, and strengthening aspects of pelvic floor therapy.
Who can benefit from pelvic health services?
Anyone with a pelvis! Pregnant women, postpartum women, peri menopausal women, and post menopausal women. Anyone with pelvic pain, pressure, prolapse, tightness, lower back pain, hip pain or tightness, constipation, bowel or bladder incontinence, painful sex or penetration, leakage with sneezing/coughing/laughing, urinary or bowel urgency.
Remember, you do NOT have to have a “problem” to benefit from pelvic floor therapy!
1 Peter 4:10
Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grade in its various forms.
